When "free speech" becomes "incitement to violence": Israeli Couple Killed in DC (Read 3733 times)

I guess I should be more careful with respect emoting on here.

If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.

What is this “control” thing of which you speak?

dumb grifters making law nowadays. Civil service doesn't always attract the best and brightest. If you look at our local politicians, few have experience outside of "non profits".

When exactly did liberals go from the anti-war party to the “kill the Jews” party?

Especially since they owe everything to Soros

Oh wait… even if wasn’t his goons someone else would probably have shot them.

Killer’s father is in tight with top democrats.

Imagine what the media would be saying right now if they found out he was at a MAGA rally

Well, Moms Demand Action still found a way to use it for their disarmament campaign - by slyly substituting “hate” for “Marxist / Marxism” in their press release.  Must have taken a few hours and intense discussions with the Central Committee, because someone felt it must include “Free Palestine” somewhere in it, and there was much arguing and many received a time-out in the lunchroom:

Two Israeli Embassy Staff Members Shot and Killed Outside Capital Jewish Museum in Washington D.C., Moms Demand Action, Students Demand Action Respond

May 22, 2025

“….. We are devastated by this hateful act of gun violence that took the lives of two young people who had their entire futures ahead of them,” said Michal Heimowitz, a volunteer with Students Demand Action and leader of Students Demand Action’s Jewish Affinity Group. “The sad truth is that none of us are safe from gun violence in a world where hate is so prevalent and guns are so accessible. We must stay committed to disarming hate so that we can have a safer future for ourselves and the next generation.”

So, why are they not lobbying for common sense laws against hate?  Seems the weapon is incidental.  Hate was the real cause of the violence.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I think this is the whole thought process in a nutshell:

Weapon now incidental because they used it.

But they still need to disarm us, however since everyone knows they did it, they can’t accuse us like usual.

So need substitute thing as proxy for us and not them.

Hmmm …. thinking, thinking, …. Got it!  Hate is hive-speak for evil 2A lawful citizens!

The problem with indulging in hatred and violent ideation is that others can use it to control you for their own purposes.

In fact that’s why the intelligence agencies have been trying so hard to provoke us for the past few years. Unfortunately the leftists do not have a strong moral foundation and are far easier to manipulate. Plus the media rewards them for it.

I guess I should be more careful with respect emoting on here.

It seems that the emotional content is sized upon far more than the context and manner of my communication - which I expected to pretty much belay that effect.

Life’s a learning curve - my apologies if anyone was nudged drop a dime on me  :o

Suffice it to say, I well understand the wise points raised, which is why you have never read about me in the crime blotter.

Further, I learned a long time ago that this conversation goes back to the fall of man from grace, and in connection with that, who the prince of this world is, for the time being.

However if I was strictly disciplined in communicating solely from that core understanding, I could not freely carouse and occasionally curse on this wonderful forum, and life would be less fun.

Speaking of fun, why not just think of me as the “unhinged hellfire” counterpart to EEF?

Hehe

The anonymity of the internet lends itself easily to people being angry, rude, trolling, etc. It is always good to remember that on this forum most people are local and we may come across each other. I have met maybe a dozen people from this forum in person whether for activism or selling things or just at the gun shows. Given the lack of non verbal queues it can be hard to tell whether someone is making a light hearted joke, a seething response, or playing the roll of the troll the internet can be very poisoning.

Someone will probably find something to whine about in this statement given their obvious attempts to troll me in this thread but in the end I don't harbor hate for anyone here. Cannot control others of course but if you remember that you may meet a person in the future it seems to help to avoid bad blood.

How would you propose writing such legislation to restrict hate?

I laud your temperament.  You are far ahead of me there.

Since this is called a “Forum” I kind of expect it to operate that way.

People should be able to express their ideas and points of view, and if they differ, and one or both parties think it really matters, then duke it out rhetorically, without trolling, condescension, or presuming to school the other party.

One can blow another’s position out of the water without personal insult to them.  It’s the position or idea you’re attacking.  The need for this skill comes up in the corporate space ALL THE TIME - if you can’t do it there, you’re dead meat.

If someone is just trolling here to be an asshole, that’s screamingly obvious.  No explanation is needed if you flame them.

Also, everyone here is just a person with a point of view - no need be so grim in grinding out the issues people raise.

None of what’s said here is going to change the outcome of the geopolitical or societal issues we face and talk about.

Maybe being able to express yourself, and learn from what others say (even if you don’t particularly like it), is plenty for this forum to be worth people’s time to participate in.

The unfortunate thing, in my opinion, is that the anger and hate and divisiveness turns off a lot of people. I think this forum has served well in the organization of people to fight bad gun laws, at least it has for me, so I think we should keep that in mind in the way we converse here.

Just to be clear nothing in my comments here was a criticism of you in any way, just general observations of forums like this.
