this sounds almost exactly like that "secret DHS source" that only talked to a tiny ass tin foil online blog. 

not buying.  especially since even if banning the guns was to prep for a credit disaster, the timelines dont match up, and even if we DIDNT have these weapons, if there truly were a fully destabilizing credit collapse, and there was some sort of revolution, its still a few a couple milling people looking at hundreds of millions of people armed and unarmed, in multiple possible LA riot type situations, or worse.

Excellent video from the think tank. I had an opportunity to interview a bunch of the Cato folks when I was doing my graduate capstone course in DC many years ago. They say they are unbiased but just depends with those folks.

Maybe is it possible that a lot of this pro-gun control controversy might be being used as a "red herring" to distract us from the fact that our economy is on the road to ruin?

Gun control legislation can be sensationalized and exploited by the media to spike sales; discussion of how best to address our lack of control of our fiscal policies... not so much...

you can bet its a distraction, but it is also an effort by the elected officials and the ruling elite to remove our ability to do anything about any of it, NDAA, then you have this crap about more bans more limits,,,
to hell with these jerks, I already registered everything when it was bought, IM NOT REGISTERING ANYTHING AGAIN.
I dont care, our country is bankrupt, the costs of everything are going through the roof, my electric bill for example, same useage over a year ago, but it is mysteriously over 100$ higher now, health care? what healthcare? having to pay for an insurance policy that I wont use is called a ripoff,,, IM NOT BUYING IT.

Sure sounds like he's coming after AWS and hi-cap mags from that video. He mentions people who hunt or use guns for sporting don't have nothing to worry about. Fancy way of saying he's against assault type weapons and hi-cap mags.
