There's a movie that came out a while back called The Covenant.
Pretty interesting movie about an Army Sergeant and his Afghan counterpart. It's a fictional story but the content was derived from many testimonies from US Soldiers and the bonds and close relationships that were formed during the conflict.
Basically the story is about a US Soldier and his Afghan counterpart being ambushed and the soldier being severely wounded. The story opens up where it looks like the Afghan has a questionable demeanor as far as his loyalty to the US.
Turns out this Afghan soldier was extremely loyal to his US counterpart, and a large portion of the movie shows him mentally and physically exhausted as he struggles to bring the US soldier to rescue and safety, all the while hiding him from the Taliban looking for them and enlisting friendly neighbors to help him.
When he finally succeeded in bringing his friend to the safety of US forces, he somehow was abandoned while the severely injured soldier was sent home.
The US soldier encountered bureaucratic obstacles in trying to bring his friend to the US while the movie shows his friend in Afghanistan constantly hiding himself and his family from the Taliban looking for him. Meanwhile all this time he had faith that his American friend did not forget him and that one day he will come to bring him out of the country.
The movie ends with the soldier going back to Afghanistan to find his friend and bring him to the US.
The reason veterans get benefits is so that we don’t have a bunch of unhinged killers going mad from social isolation and causing chaos. A lot of these Afghans were extremely loyal until our government abandoned them. We should stick to our promises and take care of the people who supported us while sending away those who just want to take advantage.
I believe in this also. The horrors of war affects all soldiers. What happened in DC could have been a Green Beret, A Navy Seal, or countless other veterans from all services. War is Hell.
I don't know what to make of what happened in DC. One thing I do know:
biden was an incompetent piece of shit.
