Anybody else feel all we did was kick the can down the road? (again)

I say this while these two facts remain:
1) Iran's military ability to strike other countries and make a nuclear weapon has been destroyed.
2) Iran has selected their new leader. The deceased supreme leader's son. Who was wounded in the initial air strikes and which the same strikes killed his wife and son. Whose leadership doctrine mirrors his father's and some say in many ways more extreme.
You put those 2 fact together and you get:
Iran re-builds, still pursues the nuclear weapons and the US does the same thing 5 years or so down the road. Rinse and repeat. With another hundreds of billions of dollars that we can't afford and truthfully don't have.
And here's another twist: If the US elects another biden or hyena we won't have "special military intervention".
We'd be giving them money.......
