This is what I was worried about. Nationally there's so much talk about restrictions at the Federal level, but it's the State level stuff that people like us in anti-gun States need to worry about. It scares me to think that all those people swore an oath to protect the Constitution, yet obviously couldn't care less about it. And there's nothing in place to stop them or put them in check.  Sure it can be fought in the courts but how much time and money is that going to take? Absolutely insane. I feel for all the New Yorkers who almost overnight had nearly all of their 2a rights stripped. No debate, dialogue, or rational discussion. Just gone.  I'm far from a tin-foiler but this is pretty scary.

Senator Greg Ball addresses the NYS Senate. Wish we had more legislators like him.

Well the courts are the checks and balances over the Legislative Branch but that doesn't seem to always work as our founders intended.

Agreed, my point is that the process is so lopsided. The Judicial Branch serves as a check, but that process is very burdensome. Today the NYS Legislature basically stripped their citizens of a majority of their gun
rights. How long did it take? One month and virtually no effort. What's the process to reverse it? Probably years and years of court challenges and thousands of hours in attorney fees.

I hope this makes people across this country realize how easily your rights can be stripped away from you.

A federal circuit judge could issue a (not sure what the name of it is... injunction?) against the law staying its affect and enforcement pending a review, could they not?

I suddenly realize I don't know as much about the Judicial Branch as I should....

This is all that "under the radar" BO promised.  They are going for it for all "57 states".  Our critters don't have to say anything because they get their marching orders from above and simply fall in line.  Wait and see or start to take action now. Got python or 1911?  Cause that's about all that will be "legal" before complete disarmament later.  This is their agenda.  In time we will all be felons or be ruled a risk to society because we don't toe that line, when we are the patriots speaking out for Liberty and our natural rights as enumerated in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.   They exist to protect all, the Left, the Right, Centrists, everyone.

with abercrombie as guvnur, barry can get anything passed here
the leg will do anything to worship at the altar of o'bama
there was a bill that has ramifications for every professional in the state of hawaii that was passed without any opposition last year
and no one has said one word about it since
because it was "mrs obama's bill"

if they can screw every licensed professional in hawaii, they can screw the gun owners
i see it being even less of a fight than in NY

These bans should apply to everyone. All elected officials should send their children to the same unarmed school districts as the everyday people. Revoke Feinsteins CCW. Fucking hypocrites.
Next the American gun industry should back us up 100%. To states that there is an AW ban of any kind, they should not service or sell these "assault weapons" to their agencies or orgs. If the people are banned from having such dangerous weapons then they (local govts.) have nothing to worry about right? Through "tough" legislation the streets are safe and the playing field is level.

I think you're onto something and it will be easier in this state. The head cereal elf will rubber stamp anything Obummer spouts out without the consent of the Hawaiian people. IMHO, if the big unions have a say in it, then maybe we may stand a chance.
Carpenters with guns, Masons with guns, even Teachers with guns (if there are any) please stand up!

With Hawaii's legislature being mostly anti-gun, there is no need for them to telegraph their intentions.  I would not be surprised one bit if they pass a NY type ban in the very first day.  Question is, What Will WE DO?  I am wondering what the NYkers are going to do...   Will they refuse, or cave??

On the bright side of things, we no longer live in the State with the second-most inane gun laws.

i never thought we did.  i always thought it went CA, NJ/NY, CT, Illinois, than us and MAryland.

all those other states had AWB's, and strict CCW laws, and rifle mag bans.

at least we dont have rifle restrictions.

That was the most sense and truth I've ever heard from a senator.
