Democracies have elected dictators before and dictators also often have popular support, they are not always military coups.
People laugh at the protest, asking where the dictator is but that misses the point. The idea is to protest before someone becomes a dictator because once they become one then it becomes a lot harder to stop them. Though these protests seem to have a wide swath of people so I wouldn't be surprised if some believe he is currently a dictator.
In my opinion Trump isn't a dictator but he is headed in that direction and I would rather make the mistake of believing that he will become a dictator than make the mistake of believing that he won't become a dictator.
Is it your belief that protests should be held in spite of the fact there is no basis for it?
Let's protest Skynet, because it might exist one day in the future based on fictional stories and movies.
Let's protest the development of viruses that might one day cause a zombie apocalypse.
Let's protest the use of time travel used for personal financial gain.
Maybe we should also protest the Matrix before it ever happens.
Based on your rationale, we should have been protesting every president since Washington, just because each one MIGHT decide to oppress the people.
Question: Why is Trump the only one being protested when his last election win was clear and decisive. The majority want him running things.
