I was trying to point to the website. The events that are scheduled are usually posted there. I know the club just got their renewal from the Marines, so they may be in the midst of creating a schedule and posting it. The Pac Divs were the last clinics and we may be hosting the All Guard team at the end of the FY 2013.

Is there a Schedule for these weekend shooting clinics?

Puuloa Rifle Club fires here every month (used to fire Pistol to but i don't think they've shot pistol in awhile for some reason) If your interested in firing the rifle from 200-600 yards than i would look up their website and inquire about joining or firing as a guest. not sure if you HAVE to join their club to fire on the days club...i do know that if your a Marine, they will provide match gun and ammo to participate. you will need to coordinate this with Marines working there.

The Marines that work there sometimes host Saturday rec-fire from 08-1200. they had one last week, AD service members and special guests. They invited civilians that lived next to the ranges which is pretty intuitive idea, since they work and live in the same area. To say the least,  it was great experience! they brought out M16, M4 rifle, 9mm pistols and match .22 and .45 1911 pistols. we all signed a form preventing any one from suing the military if we got hurt. We started at the 7 yard line familiarization phase with all weapons than we all participated in combat style (diluted version for safety) shooting with our choice of wpn which was quite exciting. it was organized and ran very well and it was much better than the usual firing, repairing target than just firing again all from the same distance. They also gave a clinic  after rec fire pertaining to "bullseye" type of shooting which is one handed from 50 and 25 yardline. it was very humbling to shoot a weapon one handed and do so from that far away!

I think next rec fire is scheduled for 23 Mar, once its concrete i'll let you know.

No need to be military to shoot in the days we reserved the range, no need to be military either to join. We are like Schofield Rod and Gun, we need a ratio of 3:1 mil to civilian membership. I didn't know Puuloa Range opens up for rec fire, I only heard of KBay doing that on Fridays. I recognize one of our club officers in those pics.

fa sho.  I shot at the Kaneohe Range last week friday. it was a pretty good deal. 

Cept there was a guy teaching another guy to shoot...who ended up just shooting 2 ft in front of the front burm the whole time...it was freaky.

^ i ask a guy that works there about clinics and he doesn't know for sure but they may have one this Saturday or Sunday. the catch is, its by invitation only i.e. gotta know someone that works there or do what i did last time is go by there and introduced myself to the guy that runs the place. I know the Puuloa Club shoots this weekend so might be a good time to go check them out. i'm sure they wont mine some spectators plus you'll get to see what all the hype is about.

just refer to schedule, EMAIL the club email address and our club president cram1903 AT yahoo.com. If we don't get a minimum amount of participants by the Thursday before the weekend shoot, it will be cancelled.
The problem we run into is not having enough people that want to shoot AND help with range operations. We only have a handful of Marine cert. RSOs that can sign for the range, a qualified medic and 2 beach guards.  In addition, we need shooters that can help with target setup before AND after shooting. The targets are big as we shoot out to 600 yards and they sit on manually operated carriages. We take turns rotating out of the pits to spot for each other.
You will need a good spotting scope, a mat (if you don't want to lie in the dirt) , water, food for the day, sunscreen, open bolt indicator etc. If you are new to shooting here please ask for assistance. Safety is paramount!

I am finalizing training plan for them and will consist of weekday/weekend shooting (rifle) in preparation for Interservice Rifle Championships held at Quantico VA July. I will cordially invite current Puuloa Club members and AD military to participate.  Due to face-paced inherit nature of training program, dependents and civilians must have baseline understanding and experience of competitive rifle (High Power) training.

I take that back. I had a fair share of Army: All Guard shooters, a Presidents 100 winner. You know I'm not active but not much locals are into serious shooting. Casual, zombie apocalypse, airsoft shooting - yes.
