Krav Maga is not MMA, though it can be considered a theoretic type of MMA in the aspect that it combined the most basic and effective techniques into a simple program to train Israeli soldiers in the shortest time possible.

MMA is sport fighting, just like Muay Thai and Boxing. That means rules, regulations, etc. Krav Maga is meant to keep someone alive during a potentially life threatening situation, which means no rules, rapid flurries and removing yourself from or neutralizing the threat so you can escape or utilize other weapon platforms. The problem is that they are starting to push Krav Maga as an overly complicated system that needs years of instruction, and it all has to do with making money. As I have already stated, you can learn all you need to know about Krav Maga by just learning and focusing on the philosophy and methodology, which shouldn't take more than a few weeks to learn at most. To get better, you just need to practice with other individuals, and also spend time learning and incorporating effective and efficient techniques from other styles into your arsenal. That can be done simply by having a keen and dedicated interest in martial arts, and taking the time to research and acquire training material via the internet or video media.

Good points. maybe it was the practitioners that i seen was mixing it up with different styes. Because they came into my uncles gym this last month and ive seen some guys that use Krav maga in the ring, and some of the guys were using Muay Thai stance, and i was wondering why they  were throwing 10 to 20 round combinations at a time. but they were good though and it was working for them.... thanks for clearing it up Q.....

Hey guys, sounds like you guys are into hand to hand combat.... If you guys turn out to do a class, I could ask couple of my mitts guys to teach the basics like stance, breathing, form, technique, strikes, combos. Etc..., LMK mahalo and aloha :shaka:

Cool! Lets do it

Well not right now. I fell down the stairs a few days ago and kind Fd up my shoulder hip and ankle but when I'm a little more functional I'm down

Thanks. And thanks for the offer

Or...

Those same guys can do a home call and lace on some boxing gloves and shin pads and punch and kick you on your good side, while you lay in bed?

Any training is better than no training.  :D

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Yeah man,I think you guys would enjoy it. The one thing i liked about competing is the technical aspect of fighting, like a dangerous chess game. Thats why i liked Pride FC,it was all technical and technique.

Pu rye do!   oh man those were the days.  just hearing the drums in the beginning bam bam bam-bam brought a chill to the spine
