I know there was another stabbing near Mayor Wright recently, and I heard there was a home invasion....don't have time to look for them today.

Armed robbery and car jacking on North Shore

http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/Armed_robbery_suspect_arrested_after_high_speed_chase.html

Armed robberies, car jacking, and high speed chases.......but hey, don't worry about it, there's no reason to be armed in Hawaii

Man charged with assault and threats to woman in moving car

Not "armed" but note that he violated that "protective order" that the State is so willing to rely bet your life on instead of allowing you to exercise your right to self defense......

Shooting in Nuuanu

http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/150179485.html

I was told the third guy who was caught breaking in to the home was thwarted by a resident who held him at gunpoint.....interesting that the SA didn't mention anything about that.....

A cursory mention of the homeowner using a gun......

Witness pulls gun, intervenes in Yakima shooting

Not generally recommended (tactically, but it got the desired effect.  Depending on the state laws (as they vary across the nation) he could be charged with "brandishing" in Ohio for instance.  He likely will not be so charged in Washington.

KAILUA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police have opened an investigation after receiving reports of shots being fired in Kailua Tuesday night.
Posted: Jun 27, 2012 4:05 AM HST Updated: Jun 27, 2012 6:23 AM HST

According to officials, the incident happened near the Shell and Chevron gas stations off Oneawa Street and Kuulei Road at about 9:30 p.m.

A Shell employee tells Hawaii News Now that a man in a white pickup truck parked behind the gas station, ran across the street near a bank and opened fire on a blue SUV. The employee says the man then ran back to his truck and fled the scene. He was wearing a blue hoodie.

Police taped off the area to search for bullet casings. For now, police have classified the case as reckless endangerment.

No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information on about this case is asked to call police.

If you read the KGBS website it has more details.

"A Shell employee tells Hawaii News Now that a man in a white pickup truck parked behind the gas station, ran across the street near a bank and opened fire on a blue SUV.
The Shell employee heard the man say "Check yo'self fool." The employee says the man then ran back to his truck and fled the scene. He was wearing a blue hoodie, and as he ran, his loose pants fell down to his ankles and tripped him. Police believe the man is a part of the notorious Manapua bandits gang."

This is a tragedy, but I always got the sense this thread was for armed crimes in Hawaii.

Is there a Hawaii angle I missed?

That is correct sir. I didn't see anything connected to Hawaii either.
