Not affecting officers in the field. That's good news. I guess they don't burn through their mags all that often while out on patrol, huh?

Why don't they limit the field carry to, say, 10 rounds per mag and use the extra for training?

HPD does not do any shooting on the Silhouette side.  Wrong agency or agencies.

Not worth a serious reply.

Come on guys its not hpd call on the 10 round issue its the crappy state law makers. Hpd has a job to do just like anyother job just imagine if I limited you to a certain tool for your job which made the job harder and your life depended on it. We might agree sometimes me included, on some bad decisions or their debatable actions, really me included but I still support them.

technically, if you DID have to defend your life (almost irrelevant here because we have no carry, and rifles arent as regulated, but say, imagine CA or NY), they did exactly that.

but, i bet if i HPD were held to the same restrictions as the rest of the normal people, there'd be a ton of pressure to repeal those silly laws.

It is true it's not HPD's call as it's a legislative matter at the same time if you look at how the Chiefs of the Counties they've always been anti 2A.  This is also true for SHOPO which does not support it's citizens either.

You then look at the (elected) Sherrifs in Colorado banding together to fight the newly implemented laws and the picture is crystal clear to me.

I'm not knocking HPD for carrying standard mags

The silhouette range is controlled by the the State.  State and Federal agencies train on that range.  HPD does not do any organized training on that range.  They will utilize the rifle range but not the silhouette side.  The SSD does not do any training as a unit on Wednesday at KKHD. The guys in gear training at KKHD on Wednesdays by default in the action bays on the lower side are not SSD.  These HPD officers may run up to the silhouette side and take some shots, but I have not heard or seen that, but these officers do not have select fire weapons.

Maybe with my license plate number? Hahaha, but on the real that's just "what i heard", and as far as shooting on the silhouette side , when we were there one day we heard full autos being shot . I asked one of the workers n he said it was hpd so don't quote me on it lmao haha
Sorry, I don't get the license plate number comment.  Believe half of what you see and less of what you hear.  Again HPD does not shoot on the Silhouette range by default.  If you hear select or "full auto" fire on public shooting days coming from the silhouette range, it is NOT the HPD and guaranteed NOT the SSD.  Again wrong agency / agencies.

I never said that.

There is often select fire from the silhouette range.  Nothing strange about that.  Many State and Federal agencies train there and it is primarily controlled by the State DPS.  If there is select fire coming from the lower ranges there are other agencies that also utilize these ranges throughout the week, which is controlled by the HPD.  I am not saying that you will not potentially hear select fire from HPD on a public shooting day but select fire weapons are not commonplace to even the HPD.  There are specialized training evolutions that may happen throughout the year.  There are those who post here who may have seen on occasions guys in full gear running around the range on a public shooting day.  And I mean literally running around and around the range.  But this is not the norm.  I will also say that by the date of the video, the marked cars present in that particular bay, I can tell you what day of the week it was and exactly what training was taking place in preparation for a certain major event.  But feel free to take any of this however you wish.
