IMO both are good firearms as is and you won’t improve reliability by adding aftermarket stuff.
Regarding high-capacity SKS mags, there are some aftermarket mags and kits that work halfway decent but nowhere close to the original configuration when it comes to reliability. The SKS internal 10- round stock magazines rarely fail and more often than not, if you experience a jam in this configuration, it's likely not the mags fault. I’d recommend keeping it stock and use/master the stripper clips but that’s just my opinion.
Depending on what specific firearms you are considering modifying, there may be other considerations. You may be playing the 922(r) game, 10 or less imported parts, and keep in mind a Chinese SKS only has 14 applicable parts to begin with and a US made magazine is two parts (body & follower). Another consideration if your firearm is a C&R rifle is any modification you make to that firearm voids its C&R status and 922(r) then applies. If high-capacity mags is where you are going with your post, why go through all the headache and end up with less reliability than your starting point. I’d just invest your money in a good quality AK and end up with three good reliable rifles. JMHO
