General Discussion / Re: 2021 AW BAN
« on: March 15, 2021, 11:13:05 AM »
Recentlly CA passed a "featureless" law.  Either go featureless or register.  Problem was the website crashed prior to the 12:00am so many were unable to register.  Hard to do that in HI because all rifles are registered anyways so no options to give like how CA did.
I think FPC has a lawsuit in on the AW ban trying to overturn it.

Unfortunately, during that time I was working 60+ hours and 6+ days a week and I was not following politics of any sort. I was not shooting regularly nor was I reloading at that time. I was totally involved with my tech career and put my life and hobby on the sideline until I finally quit. On a side note I was stocked up on 10’s of thousands of rounds of ammo in 9mm and 5.56.
That’s how I got into it hard core again. A lot of the guys in my I.T. Department were avid shooters and reloaders. We were going after work a couple nights a week and a few weekends a month. Heck, I actually got certified by the NRA as an RSO and a Metallic Reloading Instructor during that time. It was good while it lasted

I was living in CA around 2000 when I bought my first AR. Sometime between the time I bought the AR and the time I left CA in 2008, CA passed an AWB that named my rifle. When that passed I had a limited amount of time to register that rifle as an assault weapon or get rid of it or turn it in to the state. I had not heard about that bill until after the date to register came and went. Which made me an automatic felon by being in possession of this rifle. I don’t know about you, but this does not sound like a free state to me. I ended up driving to AZ and selling it to a family member here.

This is what the citizens of Hawaii have to look forward to. Since you have already registered your firearms, the next step is registering your AR’s as Assault Weapons. The final solution will be forced confiscation. Whether it is forcing you to turn them into the state via buyback or voluntary turn in. Or forcing you to sell them out of state. Or forced modification into something that no longer resembles an AR-15. It is the next step. Grandfather clauses are just a way to make those who already own one feel comfortable about letting all the other laws pass. Eventually your politicians will find an excuse to null and void your grandfather clause. Especially if someone uses an AR to shoot up a school or The Rail Station or something.
I was in Cali during that time. You should have seen what Harris was trying to do to us to stop us from getting our CCWs! Although she had one and security! When that law was gone, Top Ramen never tasted so good!
Feinstein’s plan is simple, make scary rifles AWs and non transferable. Over time, they will disappear to the point of non existent! She did the numbers and it is a waiting game.

I do not think she realizes that she has PTSD from the day Milk was shot and she needs to talk to a professional!
Also, let’s reignite the discussion of term limits.
This is the 3rd time in my lifetime she has pulled this shit. It’s getting old!

Mrs. CMO will be in Portland that weekend.  Even her work is telling them to be safe and if a place is dangerous or danger is coming, to just leave. No need finish up the job.

OR does not share reciprocity with NV.  So she cannot CCW there and isn't allowed to OC for work.  And I'm not a fan of leaving a firearm in a car for hours.

We've watched vids of what to do if she ends up in the crowd while driving or assholes blocking a driveway.
Has she tried for an AZ CCW?

I think Joe just wants to smoke pot and listen to Snoop and Tupac records with her ....

She was the Attorney General in CA, and put more people in prison for pot possession than any other AG.  Now she's laughing about smoking pot herself.

But, that's not an issue, is it?

You forgot her push to stop CCW permits all while she was conceal carrying herself...she lost that one because the OC Sheriff had a pair on her and stood up to her! I miss my Cali CCW permit!

I was living in Cali when she was the AG and she is the most two faced, privileged bitch I have ever seen. On top of that, she doesn’t listen. She only speaks and waits for the answer she wants to hear...and you have 3 seconds to give it to her...I bet she beats Obama and the riots for salesperson of the year!

Arizona. Before I came back home, I was living in Cali, but hanging out in AZ once a month (at least). I like it there, even in the summer!

Not Ensign Kim! He was bad ass and smart unlike the mayor. Everybody liked him, unlike the mayor.
On a side note, the actor is a really nice guy too (can’t remember his name). I met him at ComicCon in the early 2000s.

If AWs are for the military only then why does law enforcement get them? We are not a military state. Police are not a branch of the military. They are not supposed to be militarized.
I whole heartedly support the role of the police, but if the law states military only, that includes them as well.
I like the tier system where the police have 20 round mags and we only get 10 round mags and only military has full auto rifles and 30 round mags.
Massachusetts is creating a military state.

At least one liberal hag on my local paper website advocated a visible tatoo for firearm owners, so she and other liberals may stay far away.

This along with publishing their address, of course.

I wonder if I should get a large “P” or some numbers instead for my tattoo?. I can put the tattoo on my forearm...wait a second! This sounds very familiar...I wonder if my address can be 2nd amendment, Bill of Rights, US Constitution, 12151-791?

Forgive the basic question, will the range have RSO or will it be shoot on your own?

If you need an RSO, message me. My creds are current. I can also do reloading classes.

I will remain cautiously optimistic. I would like to see both proposed locations come to fruition. My home is close to the range area in the Manuka National Forest.

If this happens sooner rather than later I would consider early retirement. It would be great if some of us try to reinstate the Big Island Gun Club and maybe become an arm of the HRA. Loosely organize all the splinter groups and clubs around the island under one organization for representation and activism purposes. I would like to see as many people as possible support the range(s) and have friends of the range clean up days and group ammo buys like we used to have when I first lived there. If we could have group ammo buys then we can also do group powder and primer buys as well.

Am I living in a utopian world? Probably so.

I’m in to revive BISC.

Legal and Activism / Re: Assault Weapons Ban of 2018
« on: February 26, 2018, 08:55:18 PM »
kalifornia passed a featureless stock bill this year, i am told...

They definitely did! If an owner did not register a non Kalifornia compliant assault weapon before the beginning of this year, it is illegal.
The politicians and tree huggers are betting on attrition getting rid of all the scary black rifles. Patience and time will rid them of their problem (cannot transfer an assault weapon to next of kin).
They snuck it in as a line item in the last voting year’s laws. If you wanted the gun show loophole and some other common sense gun laws to get passed into law, you had to accept this line item of the law.
The Kommunist also snuck in background checks for ammo and no shipping of ammo into the state.

There's a similar argument in the media
We could ride the same argument as we only have one public range.

As Ron White once said, “You can’t fix stupid!”
