the the 5.5 gr is ok and 6.0 gr gives a little recoil. these ramshot powder burned dirty on the casing compare to factory ammo.

notice any funky oblong holes in the target?

RE: dirty burn...When you get closer to max load it should burn cleaner. But it will probably never be as clean as good quality factory ammo.

How many rounds did you shoot that day? I see a lot of fliers outside the black ring targets. Living in Ewa area, you can join  Puualoa Gun Club and SRGC. If you know a SRGC member, open shoot is tomorrow.

If you a dod civ you can join both Schofield and Puualoa without any problem. That's a lot of shoot time. I would check out SRGC open shoot today at cr1 and you will like the place. It's from 10-2

I use an RCBS Chargemaster Combo, an  RCBS 505, and a Hornady GS-1500 electronic. When calibrated, all are very accurate and consistant. Oh, and I use a Lyman Bullet Puller. Was somewhere under $20. I can't remember. Comes in handy because I load a lot of lead SWC.

I got an old lyman beam scale, a lyman digital, and a frankford arsenal digital.
I don't believe it makes much difference as long as you check calibration once in a while.
It should also be in a draft free area when used.
I always throw multiple charges and average it out. Maybe 3 to 10 throws.

When you say " misfire" you mean pull trigger and gun go click?

Not failure to feed or fail to eject?
