I've heard variations on that one quite a few times.  My answer is always, "All of them!"

I replied, "I only keep a few loaded guns where the kids can reach them."

The correct reply is "How many shoes do you need?"  To which she answered, "It depends on the occasion"  I stated flatly, "Exactly!!"

When I didn't know anything about guns and just started my research on the internet, I wondered why some guns were so expensive and .22's were relatively cheap. At that time I thought a gun was a gun, and it just made sense to get a .22. Luckily I found some people to help sway my decision.

Nah. I still wouldn't knock a good semiauto .22 for defense. .22 is better than no gun at all.

My biggest problem with 22lr for home defense is the unreliability of the ammunition.  In either of my 22s I can expect a dud round almost every magazine which is not what I want to have happen when I need it the most.

And hits on target are better than misses with a larger caliber round!

Wow. I have had maybe one dud per a few bricks (over 1000 rounds). What kind of ammo are you using? I'll avoid those
