Almost got to shoot the double barrel but the round just ended. The old 8mm I shot was really cool with the 250gr boolit.

I suck. Am in last place. Testing my resilience and confidence.

Traveling to the outer islands for some shooting this weekend.   ;D

First time traveling with Hawaiian with a firearm and ammo.  Printed their info out and there's a notice to call their reservation department to notify them that I will be traveling with a firearm.  So called this morning and got a guy that was reading from the website.  Almost put me to sleep.  But I had to laugh at the first thing the guy said was "To clarify, you are stating your intention to travel with your firearm in your checked luggage, and NOT in your carry on".

That's an over exaggeration. You are 283rd out of 307.

Wait til you shoot the old doubles or bolt guns that shoot a 500gr boolit over 150gr of black powder.  :worship: :worship: :worship:

I admit I was a little apprehensive shooting the 45-120.  But was surprisingly quite mild.  I think it kicked less than a pump shotgun with even birdshot.  The weight of the gun really seemed to tame the recoil.  I was able to get a hit on the 50 yard plate with the guidance on the hold.   ;D

Study?

After this weekend, I might not shoot for a while as well.  Have a trip to Japan coming up in a few weeks.

I have to have certain certifications in order to perform my job. And unfortunately, they need to be renewed every few years. Some require retesting. And the one I am currently working on requires a retest. At least I know that this will be the last time I have to do this. Next year, the big ones come up for renewal. That will probably take up to 40 hours of my time on the weekends and evenings in order to renew. But again it will be the last time I have to do it. I am getting tired of all the BS in re-certification. It all comes down to taking my $. The more certifications I have the more $ it takes to re-certify. And every year they raise the prices.

Have a great time in Japan!!! Is it for work or pleasure?

I see.  I have to renew my PE license every 2 years.  The Hawaii license is covered by work, but I keep my mainland licenses on my own dime.  Luckily, no further testing.

The licensing fee for Hawaii is strange.  Half of the fee is for the license and the other half goes into what they refer to a "Compliance Resolution Fund".  Not sure what that is, but seems like they are building a sort of insurance account to resolve issues that may arise.  But that's what E&O insurance is for.

The trip is for vacation.   ;D

Perhaps the fund is for politicians to pay their second mortgages with.

Hawaii Revised Statutes
TITLE 24. INSURANCE
431. Insurance Code
431:2-215 Deposits to compliance resolution fund.

Quote
All sums transferred from the insurance division into the compliance resolution fund may be expended by the commissioner to carry out the commissioner's duties and obligations under title 24.

It's basically a fee that's used for the administration and overhead of the insurance commission.  This fund keeps the monies collected from winding up in the General Fund.

Same for me.  After this weekend I am gone for the next 6 weeks or so.  WA DC then OCONUS.  I really don't enjoy the long plane rides.

Hope the OCONUS location is some place nice, as in not desert. Looks like I’ll gave to go to Guam a few times this summer for work. Bleh... haha

Wife’s going to Guam this summer for Red Cross, but she’s used to the long flights to the Philippines.

This may become a part of my travel itinerary.  Even with customs, I actually prefer heading west as opposed to going east.
