if you going kokohead from kalani hwy the usual way, there is a ton of traffic going into hanauma bay
i got there about 0645 and was fine, but when i left at 0900 the traffic from hanauma bay went all the way back to the traffic light and it wasn't moving.  so better you go around sandy's way to avoid the traffic   :shaka:

Shocking...  :P

How did the Colt do?

Colt was great. trigger is good, i wouldnt say its phenomenal, but very good. i swapped out the front sight for the fiber optic one from my cobra and i didn't have to adjust at all, but this is shooting silly side, so i'll adjust on bullseye side later
Altamont grips are slightly thinner than factory ones, i think. i didn't measure but thats what it feels like.  thinner grips were a little painful after 30+ rounds or so
its the same with the 586. thinner grips
but i like the look of the grips, so i'll take the pain.   >:D
overall, i gotta give the nod to the 6" GP100. i gotta admit, i have shot this over 100 times, has a fiber optic front sight which i can shoot better bc i can see it better. i did a trigger spring swap, so its slightly lighter, and its smoother bc theres probably around 1000 rounds thru it. the grips are more comfortable, longer barrel so less muzzle flip, longer sight radius.  i'm just more comfortable shooting this gun than the other 2.  S&W i shot a couple hundred rounds thru, so i'm not super familiar with it.  Ruger is shorter reach to the trigger, which is less felt trigger pull, IMO.  if you have large hands than this is not significant, but i have more medium hands so it makes a difference when i can reach the trigger better
looks wise, toss up between the 586 and Python.  shooting wise i give it to the GP100, but there are variables to the comparison, so its not factory for factory stock.   :shaka:

Can’t argue with Ruger coming out the winner.

Went to silly side and shot 22 and 10rds 9mm. No wind, so easy money at 100yrds.

Who is shooting this weekend?

I want to adjust the eye relief on my LPVO upper and zero.  Also want to swap iron sights on one of my ARs.

Haven't been to the range in a while.  Will be interesting to see how things are going these days.

Wish the action bays would open again.

Made it out to the range today. It was a pretty nice day for shooting rifle.

The range was pretty crowded. There was a waiting list from opening to when I left around 2:30 pm.

That was my first trip back to the range since COVID. Some tweaks to control flow if people and have to wait outside the covered area, but overall not bad.

I did find that shooting rifle with a mask bothered me a bit at first, but kinda got used to it after a bit. Not as bad as I thought. I was expecting the mask to fog up my eye pro more, which wasn’t an issue.

Went over to chat with a friend on the pistol side after. Pistol was a little over half full. Didn’t seem like they were keeping folks to every other shooting position.

Overall, fun day in the range.

Had a homeless guy sleeping right by the office door on silhouette side. Once line went hot, he left. No can sleep with loud gunfire  :D

Who is shooting this weekend?

I got my 700 back a little earlier than expected, so trying to get to the range to zero the new setup. Supposed to be on leave on all this week, but an effing “Senior Leader” scheduled a Telcon tmrw, right in the middle of the damn day.  :grrr:

Anyways, who is going shooting this weekend?  Need to relax or blow off steam?

I had plans to go tomorrow, but some "sr leader" type jackwagon setup a meeting.  Wait, that might have been me. . .

I finally have the correct mounts for my chrono, so want to start testing some loads on my 700.  The mount that I ordered seems like it was meant for a 24-28" or longer barrel.  My barrel is only 20".  So too short. . . :( (no TWSS comments. . . )

I have a RDS that I bought in a Black Friday sale that I eventually need to get mounted and zeroed as well.

So. . . who is going shooting this weekend?
