Shocking...
How did the Colt do?
Colt was great. trigger is good, i wouldnt say its phenomenal, but very good. i swapped out the front sight for the fiber optic one from my cobra and i didn't have to adjust at all, but this is shooting silly side, so i'll adjust on bullseye side later
Altamont grips are slightly thinner than factory ones, i think. i didn't measure but thats what it feels like. thinner grips were a little painful after 30+ rounds or so
its the same with the 586. thinner grips
but i like the look of the grips, so i'll take the pain.

overall, i gotta give the nod to the 6" GP100. i gotta admit, i have shot this over 100 times, has a fiber optic front sight which i can shoot better bc i can see it better. i did a trigger spring swap, so its slightly lighter, and its smoother bc theres probably around 1000 rounds thru it. the grips are more comfortable, longer barrel so less muzzle flip, longer sight radius. i'm just more comfortable shooting this gun than the other 2. S&W i shot a couple hundred rounds thru, so i'm not super familiar with it. Ruger is shorter reach to the trigger, which is less felt trigger pull, IMO. if you have large hands than this is not significant, but i have more medium hands so it makes a difference when i can reach the trigger better
looks wise, toss up between the 586 and Python. shooting wise i give it to the GP100, but there are variables to the comparison, so its not factory for factory stock.
