I've been shooting rifle for the past few weeks.  feels like I'm getting handgun magnum withdrawal. some short barrel 357 magnum shooting should fix that problem.   :geekdanc:

went on 9/11 so I figure I would bring out something I don't shoot that often, my AR308   :shaka:

Nice looking 308.  What type of muzzle brake is that?

it came with the upper.  they call it a "tank" muzzle brake.  works well with the recoil

I went yesterday and today. Yesterday I shot my Model 627. I shot both bunny farts and mid level 357 loads. I cast my own bullets and powder coated them as well. I used to have an RDS on my pistol but I took it off and reinstalled the iron sights.

Today I shot my High Standard USA-HD target pistol. It was made for the army as a training pistol and later used by army marksmen in competition. The pistol was made in 1943 and later modified with target sights somewhere in the early 50’s. The pistol was sold sometime in the late 60’s to the public. They were originally sold to the army both blued and parkerized. Mine is parkerized.

Good to hear that you're getting regular range time.  Enjoying your retirement with some recoil therapy.

Not me.  Just taking a breather from reviewing a LARGE proposal. . . hopefully don't need to negotiate, but analysis for these $$$ amounts can be almost as much as the construction cost.   :(

Sorry you’re working on Saturday. Take a break and have an adult beverage.

Spent all morning talking guns with my nephews. One is thinking of getting his FFL and the other does product reviews and received a cheap ass free scope to review. They sent him rings for a dovetail instead of for a picatinny rail. He is not very experienced with guns so he couldn’t figure out why the rings would not fit his PCC.

I reloaded 200 rounds of 9mm this afternoon. I have 200 more to go to make the 1,000 rounds for this project. Probably finish them up tomorrow. This project is basic ammo designed to be soft shooting yet reliable in my EDC guns. I load 124gr RN powder coated boolits with Red Dot powder. I use this ammo for holster training. Don’t need accuracy here. Just economy and reliability. Then I start the next 1,000 round 9mm project. This is practice and target ammo for all my guns. These have to be up to mid power ranges and must be pretty accurate and reliable in all my guns not just my EDC guns. For these I load a 124gr RN plated bullet by X-Treme. I load these with either CFE Pistol or Titegroup powder. After that is a specialty load for one of my milsurp pistols. After that is some .380 so I can practice with my new pocket carry.

And after all that I have small amounts of Red Dot, Green Dot and Bullseye that I want to use up. Then I start working on the last of the Unique I have. It’s been hell trying to find pistol powder around here. When I do it’s not what I want or normally use. So I am trying to use up the Red Dot and Green Dot as I bought these only because they were the only pistol powder available at the time. I don’t normally use these powders. Bullseye and Unique is smoky and dirty so I want to use those up as well.

I knew I would have to work this weekend.  I was on leave for over a week recently and it was timed to be before this next rush of work.

Good that you are talking guns with your nephews, and that one seems to be into it.  If I lived in AZ or NV, I'd quickly be going broke with all of the shooting I would be able to do.  At least more opportunity to do so than Hawaii.

I finally was able to get my hands on some powder to load up for 9 mm.  I had "bought" it a while ago, but it got held up with the middle man/person/it/thing.  Haha.  All good though in that I haven't been shooting handgun as much and have some time until I "need" to load for 9mm.  I should get into it sooner rather than later though.
