If she is holding a true public event she cannot exclude the media because the media have the same rights to be in places any other citizen is allowed to be.  It is basic civil rights, that's why in all the video coverage of lefty protests you never see cops removing journalists from public spaces.

I'm not sure stupid is the best characterization of Carter.  He was a horrible President because he put humanitarian concerns ahead of national strength, making the US a target of our enemies:  OPEC, Russia, Iran, Libya, .....

I don't think I've seen cars sitting in line for miles & for hours waiting to get gasoline before the station ran out -- on the driver's even/odd designated day to buy gas (a form of rationing) -- at any other time in my life like it was under Carter.

Energy (oil) drives this economy. That crisis drove up prices to 6-10 times in a month for groceries.  Bank loans were at 22% -- even secured loans.  It was a bleak time.  By contrast, Reagan could not do any worse if he tried.

I must be a little older than you. I remember the 73-74 oil embargo, which was faked as there were dozens of full oil tankers parked in outer Los Angeles harbor.
This may get me banned, but the problem is not "stupid" politicians, but the Democrats that elect them.

Lucky there were not a lot more incidents with the corruption going on with the gas stations and closing in SoCal.  Saw some big gas guzzler station wagon with soccer mom being fueled at a "closed" gas station.  Owner/guy pumping gave me stink eye as I slowed way down to check it out.

i am sure that sort of thing was going on everywhere.  SoCal is corruption central.  They would refuse a gallon or two for a motorcycle claiming it was recreational.
