“We have made the Hawaiians feel like strangers in their own land,” Kim said.

Here, plain as day, the Democrat socialists reveal the crux of the issue in their warped deluded and delusional belief that this is not a state of the United States of America, but some far flung outlier that belongs to some group of a particular genetic code who not only own the place, but have special status requiring them to be treated as above the laws that apply to all other citizens.

This place isn't any more "their own land" than it is every other single legal citizen's land. One person, one vote... but no, not here... not when obviously racist policy is implemented by the Democrat socialists.

Mayor Kim is well aware of the legal status of Hawaii in relation to the USA.

Let's not open that can of worms and stay on topic with TMT.

The "legal status" or the "purported legal status"?

The quoted comment is totally "on topic with TMT".That's Lyin' Harry's prefatory comment laying the groundwork and framework upon which he will be having "discussions" with the criminals currently blocking a public road.

You cannot reason with the unreasonable and they should never have been allowed on the road in the first place.   The only acceptable “compromise “ for them would be that the TMT goes away.  It doesn’t matter to me one way or the other if the TMT gets built or not.  What bothers me is that a company that has spend all this time, huge amounts of money jumping through all the legal hoops, has gotten all the permits and granted permission by Hawaii's highest court, is being prevented from proceeding with their project by the ones that lost the court case and receiving no protection by LE or the government.

Like I said in the very beginning, this should have been nipped in the bud.  Protesters should never have been allowed to stand on the road, much less so to erect several tents on the road.   It is rapidly getting to the point where you will need 1000 or more LEOs to clear the road unless deadly force is used.

I disagree. No one knows for sure how the protestors will react or how the thing will play out. Waiting comes with risks but so does "nipping it in the bud".  It is a bit of a gamble either way but I think they made the safer bet at this point.

We will see how it resolves and if I am wrong then you can tell me "I told you so"

Response: "It's because I'm coming for your guns"

Lets hope we get the kind of showing the TMT protestors have if they try to take our guns

I think "indigenous", in this or any context re humans (versus plants and animals), means "the most recent invasive wave/force to have taken over and controlled a particular geographical area, often by committing genocide on the previous inhabitants, prior to contact with european civilization".

I often point out that well before the Americans took over Hawaii Kamehameha shed a lot of blood taking the islands from others and ask what about someone who wants to grieve that unjust takeover? A couple have said that was different because he was Hawaiian taking over other Hawaiians. Kinda points out a certain inherent racist nature to their complaint.

The "legal status" or the "purported legal status"?

There is no dispute that the USA has no legal authority over Hawaii and that Hawaii is illegally being occupied by the USA.

Like I said, let's not go any more.

What command are you talking about?

He believes that I am secretly an undercover police officer sent to spy on 2Ahawaii members so he is asking whether I will obey a hypothetical to confiscate guns.

He likes conspiracies, especially the dumb ones and he keeps pushing it with little comments like that one.

This morninh HNN showed event tents have replaced many of the pop up tents.  More pottys added and about 1000 people now there daily and swelling to over 2000 on weekends.  At this point I don't see how TMT can get built.

You wrote that with a straight face?

No sane person could read it with a straight face.

I think it's possible if the state/courts issue an extension on the required time to have started construction (now September 25, 2019) for at least a year and then just let those people sit there all winter (they may have modular housing by then with fireplaces built right in the middle of the road) until the number of criminals declines to a point where law enforcement could more safely deal with the numbers, BUT given the Democrat idiots running the whole show, at all levels, I'm guessing you would very well be right... no TMT.

1 of 2 things will happen if command gives the order:

1) Followed to the T because "just following orders"
2) Those who do disagree will not say anything because they don't want to get fired.  So they will just wait outside, instead of going inside the home/office to confiscate the guns.  That way they can say "I didn't confiscate anything, the other guy did".

Guess the police will just have to do their job and remove the guns. And follow orders.

Because the gun owner, at that point is now a criminal, refusing to follow the law.

That's what they said about the Dakota Pipeline protests with 3000-4000 protestors onsite.  It ran from early 2016 to February 2017.

In the end, the protestors lost.

That is exactly right.  I seriously doubt if any of our spineless, gutless political leaders would have the nerve to make such an order.
