Mentioning a few months or weeks does not equate to giving an actual date.

Obviously, Russia has decided for more an attrition approach in their war with Ukraine rather than seeking a quick decisive victory than I anticipated.

Russias not slowing down by choice, they want a quick end to the war.  It's just their military is crap.  Bad troops, equipment, training, command and control etc.  They do have very strong defensive lines though.  Ukraine's military is pretty crappy too and they're just holding on because of the free stuff they're getting and the support from allied nations.  The problem Ukraine has is equipment, ammunition, and training. is given to them very slowly, over months or years.  And the restrictions that munitions couldn't be used inside of Russia made them fight with their hands tied behind their back.

Seems like they're trying to get air superiority in the future by recently going after SAMs.  To be more effective with rockets, drones, and cruise missiles now, and in a year or two to have fighers attack the front lines which they really need.

Russia could end it quick, but then they would have a failed state on their border. It would be relatively easy to launch a few hypersonics to wipe out out utilities and civilian infrastructure sending the Ukes back to the stone age. Cleaning up all the crime, disease, and social ills would be another matter entirely. We don't care about fighting to the last Ukrainian because it's on the other side of the planet, but imagine someone was pulling the same crap with Mexico or Canada and we had to foot the bill to rebuild them after.
If you dissolve your enemies in acid, technically that's turning your problems into a solution.

Civilian casualties is a thing now days in modern war. no more carpet bombing of cities like how they did in WW2.  Plus, what ever they destroy, they would have to fix later if they win.

That's a general opinion, but more specifically:

Quote
Carpet bombing of cities, towns, villages, or other areas containing a
concentration of protected civilians has been considered a war crime
since 1977, through Article 51 of Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions.

I may have said this before,
But Ukrainians aren't going to go through a Holodomor again.
they will lose the kinetic war but they will continue as terrorists
in imperial Russia.( Putin is the emperor for all intents and purposes).
Russia will suffer for years.Their best bet is to reach an peace agreement
now and we all agree of no more NATO or Russian expansion.

Y'all forget only Congress can declare war, that means making a law.
Congress only repealed WW II war law a few years after the kinetic part ended.
War is total.  kill all the enemy. Eliminate all their ability and will to war against you.
Period.
That means the civilians that support the military.

Russias not slowing down by choice, they want a quick end to the war.
As mentioned by HB, Russia could most definitely defeat Ukraine rather quickly like I incorrectly anticipated; however, in addition to the threat of having a failed state on the border, Russia would be risking the US empire and its proxy NATO finding lame psychotic excuses to intervene militarily leading to WWIII and the end of the World.  That's why Russia has not bombed Kiev to the ground.

Russia and China for that matter do not want war, they and the rest of the BRICS nations want peace and trade.  It is the US empire that wants war in a last-ditch effort to stop their ever-dwindling list of vassal states from joining the rest of the free World in BRICS; thus, putting the final nail in the coffin of their empire.

It's just their military is crap.  Bad troops, equipment, training, command and control etc.
As for the Russian military being crap, what metrics are you using and who's reporting are you basing that assessment on?  As of date, the once well-trained to NATO standards Ukrainian military has been all but annihilated so much so that they are lowering and raising the conscription age to find anybody to throw to the front lines.  Moreover, there have been many experienced foreign troops including Americans that have been fighting and dying against the Russians and Ukraine is still losing.

As I mentioned before, the crappy Ukrainian forces you speak of are what they were left after their pre-conflict well NATO trained army was destroyed many months ago.  Second, the fact you mentioned Ukraine not being given the supplies and armaments they desperately need indirectly contradicts your initial notion that the Russian military is crap.  The military industries of Russia have proven far more capable than the US empire had anticipated.  How can the Russian military be rubbish when they can not only maintain but grow their military forces to the size and logistical capacity it has now?

Seems like they're trying to get air superiority in the future by recently going after SAMs.  To be more effective with rockets, drones, and cruise missiles now, and in a year or two to have fighers attack the front lines which they really need.
Everyone should pray for a quick end to this US imperial proxy war as all indications show that WWIII is on its way.

We need Michael Jackson to come back from the dead to make another song like "We are the World...."

Then we all can hold hands and have a kumbaya moment before we go back to how we are.

Last week, China had a press conference when they annouced they won't be attending the Shri Lanka meeting (June 15) because Zelynski was asking Asia to help end this war.  China said they won't attend cause Russia isn't going to attend/ or not invited (IDK).  Their defense minister even stated that they won't supply either side of this war.  I thought that China was supplying Russia.

No way to prove either way, but China is tremendously helping Russia economically as it as well as India and the other BRICS nations are continually trading with Russia despite the unilateral sanctions imposed by the US empire.

According to the US empire, Russia supposed to be bankrupt right now and financially unable to fund its military and continue the war.  Goes to show the economic power of the BRICS nations that undoubtedly keeps Russia economically afloat.

For those in support for the US imperial proxy war against Russia via Ukraine, the International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine is always looking for volunteers.

I am sure there are a number of forum members here whose vast military and medical skill set Ukraine would love to have in its ranks.

In my opinion most if not all foreign fighters joining Ukraine's International Legion are in it for themselves.

TIK TOK, You Boob, Insta-scam, whatever social media platform out there is their motivation not to mention future books and documentaries.

But for the sake of Ukraine?   LOL!

Think you got us wrong, or at least me.  I support the war because Ukraine is fighting the Russians for us and our troops aren't directly involved in the war.  That's a good deal even with the billions in equipment we're giving Ukraine.  Ukraine is a corrupt nation and the Ukrainians have this entitlement mindset that their allies are required to give them free stuff.  I don't like Ukraine, I just like them more than Russia.

I must have missed the declaration of war
So dumb. We only support a corrupt nation because they are fighting the Russians. That's so short sighted. I remember all these stupid orgs "supporting Ukraine". 2LGBTQABC stand with Ukraine. Yeah, cows support Burger King, McDonalds and Five Guys.

It's not a new concept.

Quote
The enemy of my enemy is my friend -- an ancient proverb which suggests that
two parties can or should work together against a common enemy.

The exact meaning of the modern phrase was first expressed in the Latin phrase
"Amicus meus, inimicus inimici mei" ("my friend, the enemy of my enemy"), which
had become common throughout Europe by the early 18th century, while the first
recorded use of the current English version came in 1884
.

The enemy of your enemy doesn't have to actually be your friend.  The idea is you will treat them as one because their fight benefits you.

Ignoring the comments of the forum member that can't live without providing some sort of criticism to my posts while not contributing anything to the discussion, conducting a proxy war without regard to the lives of the people being sacrificed is very selfish and evil.  I am not saying you are selfish and evil as I understand your logic, but there are now consequences that can and will potentially affect the lives of everyone on this planet.

Russia just up the ante by sending its warships to Cuba and it's only a matter of time before they decide to station nuclear weapons there in response to the US empire allowing permission for Ukraine to use US imperial weapons to strike Russian territory directly.  The US empire will likewise further escalate to whatever they see fit and solidify a cycle that will definitely spin out of control in the near future unless someone blinks.

If I may ask, what has Russia done to draw your dislike?
