The only ones who will be laughing will be members of the CCP.
Do you think that Russia or China will pass up the opportunity to own and occupy Pearl Harbor
Hickam or the other assets in Hawaii? The people of Hawaii will become a problem minority and
will need to be sent to re-education camps and slave labor factories.
Look at what happened to the Uyghurs. Look at what also happened in Tibet.
There is no evidence to prove the allegations you stated above about China.

Here's a question, name a legally recognized sovereign country China has invaded for territorial conquest in the last 200 years.  I think you will find that number, if it exists, is far less than the number of nations the US empire has invaded during that same time frame and it is because of that reality why those who really understand China are not afraid living in a World during their peaceful rise as a global economic superpower.

Vietnam, India, Tibet, and Korea to name a few.
Soon to be Russia.
History is not your strongest skill.
BTW, if you wish to claim they are just reclaiming territory lost to foreign
empires, keep in mind the Han Chinese are about the most homogeneous people on Earth,
exceeded only by the Japanese,.
and the countries I mentioned have almost no Han Chinese.

First of all, Hawaiian nationals are not demanding sovereignty since the Hawaiian nation state still exists and is being illegally occupied.

Second, I don't understand the confusion you have with the concept of Hawaiian.  Prior to the establishment of the Hawaiian Kingdom, Hawaiians referred to the aboriginal population of the Big Island of Hawaii.  After the legal international recognition of the Hawaiian Kingdom, Hawaiians became a term used for nationality.  After the illegal occupation of Hawaii, the term Hawaiian somehow became a term referring to an ethnicity.

For myself, I am an aboriginal ethnic Mauian from Maui and a Hawaiian national.

Did you bother to read that source you linked?  The PhD student said more than once how ambiguous and confusing is is to try and call yourself Hawaiian -- even included his own experiences as a light-skinned Hawaiian being questioned by other Hawaiians saying he's NOT.

The criteria has been changing due to several factors.  But this is not MY opinion.  The confusion is well documented in the words you don't appear to have read.

Don't forget all the real estate in the US and other countries China is buying.

Military force is not the only method of annexing foreign lands.  The US has a history of buying property during our Manifest Destiny period -- Florida from Spain, the Louisiana Territory from the Spanish and French, Alaska from Russia,Parts of Arizona and New Mexico from Mexico, ...

There are bills being proposed to prevent China from continuing to buy up public and private lands.
