Why are you questioning the integrity and accuracy without anything to base it on?  One or two previous reports having errors WHICH WERE ADMITTED TO AND CORRECTED does not mean all future reports will have errors.

Remember, Musk's team is acquiring the data from the people managing the programs and agencies being audited.  It's not a stretch to believe an agency unable to account for billions in allocated funds might not have perfect bookkeeping.

One thing worse than releasing an inaccurate report is having the report's accuracy questioned before anyone ever reads it.  Musk doesn't have to be perfect.  He's being transparent.  Any errors can be quickly identified and corrected with more eyes on it.

Just stop.

It isn't just a few simple mistakes though. We were promised billions in savings and that number has been decreasing significantly, some cuts are arguably not going to work which meant a bunch of time and money spent just to keep what was cut. The mess that has been created is making it more difficult to justify the good cuts that are actually being made and suggesting it is all a few typo mistakes is not an honest representation of what is going on. FYI I supported Musk and the whole DOGE mission from the beginning, I am just disappointed how poorly it is turning out.

It's unfortunate, but collateral damage. To audit every org and department would take well past the term of Trump and the next POTUS may cease all actions.  But instead, people should be asking why for generations has this type of waste even been allowed.

Hello Not-a-doc

My face is rotting away and about to kill me, so I need a root canal.

It's got to be painless though. Not the slightest discomfort. Otherwise don't bother.

i have a conspiracy theory that legislators, being lawyers mostly, understand the kind of legal maneuvering that helps their causes.

One way would be to make the government so complicated, redundant and massive that it looks like a giant game of Jinga.  Trying to remove one piece jeopardizes many more.  So getting rid of just one unnecessary administrative function becomes so complicated and painful, it's easiest to just do nothing.

But, that's just crazy talk, huh?

THey stopped social security for some people and the left is upset and called DOGE liars.

DOGE"s reply,  These 12 are over 150 years old.

The left is still upset cause "you said you won't stop SS payments".

It is human nature for people to try to use other's words in their favor, but the problem is they don't have much of a case, when you are defending NOT auditing the government. The same people that were ok with sending BILLIONS to Ukraine, even after Zelensky said their is no record of where the money goes, and he would not submit to any audit, but are complaining that the war didn't end on day 1 of the Trump presidency. We can assumer billions in saving just because we are not sending any more to Ukraine.

Statement made by musk about the gov workers deleting a terabyte of data. But his reply was something like they don't know how data works and we've recovered it.

Someone needs to take notes from the Clintons and have a fire in their "guest" house.

I would have preferred Trump have DOGE take their time and greatly reduce the collateral damage. Maybe set a time frame of 2 years instead of 3 months for example. You would have more responsible cuts, better efficiency, and less ammo for them to use against Trump.

Even at 2 years, I think that you would still complain.

I repeat this again, "where have you been since 2016?".  The left uses anything they can for "ammo".

We still have all that debt to retire first from 20 years of military spending in the Middle East.  Estimates are we borrowed $8 trillion over those 20 years to fund the war effort.  None of that was ever programmed into the annual budgets -- budgets that routinely (always?) use deficit spending on their own to fund the government before figuring in those wars.

The U.S. national debt grew to a record $34 trillion by the end of 2023,
and it ballooned to nearly $35 trillion by the middle of 2024.

I wouldn't have much to complain about if the cuts had been made carefully.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.  I think it was either a false promise or an idea that was never thought through.

Could definitely use that to buy a few toys though!

Colbert show cancelled now Howard Stern, makes me wonder if our tax dollars were used to fund these failing shows. And in return, they would talk bad about Trump.

USAID’s funding of over 6,000 journalists, 1,000 platforms
worldwide raises concerns over independence and transparency

Why the Legacy Media all sounds the same

Even if specific media influencers like Colbert and Stern didn't directly receive funding from government, the NGOs that did could have been funneling money to those shows and their networks while the influencers still looked clean.
