Wouldn't it be designated when reported as a sale to be a shotgun receiver from whomever ffl that sells it regardless of what state it is in? Once designated in that state you cannot declare it a pistol in another state? Once designated a long gun to the ATF then it cannot be changed into a pistol?

Looks like you would need to go to the manufacturer for the receiver. Once it's declared as a shotgun frame then you would have no chance of making a pistol out of it?

At least they didn't confiscate the lower for a 30 round magazine inserted into a pistol frame

The person who is transferring title to the firearm shall sign the permit in ink and cause the permit to be delivered or sent by registered mail to the issuing authority within forty-eight hours after transferring the firearm.

You can buy any firearm listed as a c&r and have it shipped directly to you. That includes c&r pistols. All you have to bring your paperwork, ffl, and firearm and let HPD know that it is a c&r purchase.

General Discussion / Re: Permit not ready??
« on: September 27, 2013, 10:13:10 AM »
I am on my second day pass due for my permit and it is still not "ready" is this normal. If I remember correctly they told me I only have between the 26th and the 30th to pick it up but its not even ready yet. How many days after the 14 day waiting period do we have to pick up a rifle permit? Does having it not "ready" yet apply to those days?

Thanks.

You need to check your dates because it is a 6 day window to pick up. On what day did you apply?

any 50 state hunter education card is good enough!

and dont forget your marriage certificate

you just need the info for the guns, fill out the forms, and if any are handguns then you need your handgun safety class. then wait the two weeks for the background checks.

Prior to 94 only applies to rifles. all handguns needed to be registered I matter when they were brought in. All you have to do is ask your gramps if he registered it, if he did get the info and apply for permit.
