i went this past weekend to the silly side
i noticed a couple of shooters with a Gucci Glock, but couldn't really hit anything. 1 guy was consistently about 10-20m short of the 50m target. i was going to offer some tips, but didn't really look like they wanted any help. for over an hour that i was there, they were shooting the same
i also saw one old timer who is always there vulturing brass from other people there without asking.
i was there with 5 other people, 3 of which were new to shooting and the other 2 shot a few times before. after going over basic safety rules and then a basic tutorial of handgun shooting, "this is how you grip the gun, extend your elbows, focus on front sight, squeeze trigger while holding steady, don't jerk the trigger." etc..., all the 5 shooters were consistently shooting the big target, and some hitting smaller targets. nobody hitting the dirt. no Gucci Glock, only the obsolete G19. I also eased them into the G19 by shooting my Ruger Mark IV 22LR first, so they get used to squeezing the trigger with less recoil so they can practice shooting without anticipating the recoil. it was satisfying to teach new shooters and to have a good outcome
