Who is shooting this weekend?

I'll likely be shooting some rifle and pistol.  Thinking of shooting the AK Project.  It's been a while since I've shot that AK.

No can pewpew due to HI's to and from law.

But can have a EV get together and all park in the stalls in front the toilets or something.

But some won't come cause #1 no EV and #2 range too far.

You all are polluting the environment with all that burning of smokeless carbon gasses littering lead lumps everywhere.

Get with the times and buy electric guns.

went this past weekend with my sister and my nephew.  sister has shot a few times before.  nephew shoots regularly, mostly handgun
we shot my 308 bolt gun and the AR I built for my nephew, first time he is shooting it.  has a few upgrades on it: stainless 18" barrel, Griffin Armament muzzle brake, 2 stage 4.5 lbs trigger, magpul furniture, PA 1-6 LPVO
nice family day at kokohead  :shaka:

i go to silhouette side on Saturday. get there early enough to get a spot.  its full at about 0750
guy and girl pull up and walk up to the benches and realize its full
guy asks a family of 4 at a table if they can share.  father of family accepts, although looks like reluctantly.  if it was me, i would not share.  if its a friend, sure I'll share without hesitating.
but someone i don't know, get your own table. wait till one opens up.  people usually don"t stay that long on silly side anyways
thats like reverse Aloha.  giving Aloha to yourself at the expense of others.  not a cool move to ask a stranger to share tables, IMO.  not good range etiquette

Yeah, I hear ya.  I'd be torn.  I am all about sharing opportunity to shoot.  I am 50/50 on the "don't know until you ask" approach.  I definitely see folks being too pushy on that.  Personally, I wouldn't ask.  I would just wait patiently.  However, I see that "I'm gonna get mine" attitude more and more these days.

Who is shooting this weekend?  I finally have some free time after being slammed for work.  Might spend some time in the loading room.  But feeling the itch to shoot some steel.

Went last Sunday to help a buddy zero is LVPO on his AR.  Took some rounds to get him on paper. Then was doable.

Haven't had to zero in a while and its 1 of the things that I hate to do.  So got confused on the dials, but was able to figure it out.

He had 45 offset irons that we didn't finish. Couldn't even land on paper, even after bore sighting.  He said he's gonna remove them anyways.

I had to remember FORS for the dials. Front Opposite, Rear Same.

Zeroing and the cost of ammo puts a new stress on doing it. Gotta use as minimal amount of ammo as possible.

Interesting. . . So got the LPVO zeroed, but then couldn't on the irons?  How far off were the irons?  If not on paper, how did it look when the LPVO was on target and you look over to the irons?

Front post looked very low. Which would imply we were shooting over the paper.  He has some weird irons that you need a tool to hold it in place and use a bullet to move the dial for the front sight.  I don't remember the brand.  Compared to my Magpul MBUS, just use the bullet to spin the dial if you lose the provided turn key.

IIRC it was a Primary Arms 1x4.

So the front sight was bottomed out and still not on paper?

I've had an upper where I was able to zero the red dot, but the irons were about 2" right when the rear sight was all the way to one side.  Triple checked, friend checked, etc.  Sent upper back to MFR and they said something was off in the barrel to barrel extension.  They ended up replacing the barrel.

For front sight, I have the 4 and 5 prong tool, but the FSP and others are meant to be able to be adjusted by the bullet tip or fired brass.
