you dont need to make a new target stand. just staple an extra long piece of cardboard to the top of your existing stand.
or screw a piece of plywood.

i've heard of tree huggers, but that's a bit extreme!

This!!

The dims on the wood to build the frame states 60" to 80".  So, how will the center of the lowest target be at 60" if the frame is only 60" in length, not accounting for the few inches that go in the ground.  Something does not add up . . .

Yeah, doesn't look like too much thought was put into relaying this information and also implementing the design on the KHSC website.  Looks like it was a hasty and last minute add-on.

I know I've said this before but it really irks me that they (city) spent $400,000 on "improvements" but they didn't fix the target stand pipes.......

One time I had a lane where at the 50 yd. mark one pipe was bent out of round.  It couldn't fit the target stand very well and it stood like me.....crooked like an old man.

Parks website states 50 yd targets only allowed at 10, 12, 14,  & 18 stalls.  Only .22 cal can be shot at 50yds.  Hopefully those that go today can clarify the new rule/process changes.

take pictures and file a report.

I was thinking about doing that, but I figure you would do that anyway, so I save myself a 60-mile trip.

I went from 0800-0920. The 5ft bottom of the lowest target was not enforced. There was alot of people using their old stands,  and low to the grass. Also I shot 7.62x39 and 5.56 at the 50yd along with many other people.  I dunno what stand number i was at but the stands on both sides of me was on the 50 also. I dunno if not supposed to but r/o never say nothing. Mostly the same r/o's working, except a few I didn't see. They looked happy to be back at the range. Alot of people modified their target stands also tho. I'll prolly make a new one in case they start enforcing that.

The online system and in-person check-in was unnecessary. There were at least 4 City employees that were not from the range cadre overseeing operations. There were a lot of empty tables. The red lights and signs were obviously not reviewed by experienced and certified range personnel. City should have listened to the expert that they hired to run that range/park! The fence was unnecessary.
The City needs ROs. There is a large turnover that has already begun and it will get worse. Don't know why the City reached out to an out-of-State consulting firm when they had the expertise in-house.
City management took a system / process that was working and added another layer of bureaucracy to it.
But it was a good day.

It was good to see the some of the old RSO.  Gates were open early and hand to stand in line prior to checking in.  New time restriction is crazy i felt like I had to rush and by the time i got into my grove it was time to pack up.  Limited 50 yards targets it seems that the grass was not cut so it was overgrown.  Parks and rec had 9 months to fix and improve things, and they were not able to cut the grass at the 50 yard line.  No steel targets anymore.  Limiting shooting time is like telling someone they have an hour to swim at a beach.  Besides that it  was good to be back on the range.  Hopefully they ease up on the time limits.

I had reservations for today and tomorrow but things of major importance came up for this weekend and no can go.  The bad/sad thing is that there seems to be no way to cancel a reservation (for emergencies like mine) online.  Hopefully a standby shooter got to/will use my time slots at the pistol range.

Ahh yes, the old Brodie/Judd property where members of the Honolulu Rifles led by German Consul General H.F. Glade trained before committing treason in an event culminating in the Bayonet Constitution. Thankfully the Honolulu Rifles were disbanded in 1890 after the 1889 Wilcox rebellion and then exposed as Knights of Pythias member operating in the Kingdom under charter from Congress. Cause if they were not exposed in 1890 while open carrying in public in the Kingdom, then we today wouldn't know the US is liable for interfering and intervening in the domestic affairs of the Kingdom prior to landing troops in 1893. Now this...adds a whole other perspective on 1893 as well as the policy thereafter to engage in fraud by contract and trade with successors of usurpers.
